Personal Accountability & Responsibility

How to Build Character:

Practice is everything in life.  We start building our character as children.  I was very fortunate to have great parents and they helped me build my self-worth from an early age.  The good thing is that even if you didn’t have help from an early age, you can build character at any time.  Humans can change and grow with practice.

Practice standing up for yourself when you have a belief that is important to you and your #ethics.

  • Practice admitting your wrong and take action where needed
  • Practice Positive Self-talk.  I recommend standing in front of your bathroom mirror twice a day and talk to yourself with positive affirmations.  I know it sounds funny.  If you can’t stand alone and speak highly of yourself, how can you stand up for yourself at school or on the team?
  • Volunteer because when you help others you help yourself

Start with creating a foundation in your life of personal accountability and responsibility.  This foundation creates your character which allows for you to have the courage of your convictions, morals, values, and civility in life.
